GeForce GTX 1060 Twin X2 6144MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

The GP106 graphics chip in the GeForce GTX 1060 is manufactured using the im 16 nm FinFET process and is based on NVIDIA's Pascal GPU architecture. In comparison to its predecessors from the Maxwell generation of cards the GeForce GTX 1060 offers improved efficiency and an impressive performance increase. The GeForce GTX 1060 is the mid-range model from the GTX 10- series of graphics cards and is available in variants with 3 or 6 GB VRAM. The GeForce GTX 1060 is VR Ready and comes with an HDMI 2.0b port.

The Features of the Inno3D GeForce GTX 1060 Twin X2 6144 MB at a Glance

  • Dual-Fan Cooler
  • High GPU base clock: 1.506 MHz
  • Massive GPU boost clock: 1.708 MHz
  • 6 GB VRAM
  • Aggressively-clocked VRAM: 4.000 MHz (8.000 MHz effective)
  • Single additional power connector: 1x 6 Pin

Compact GeForce GTX 1060 with Dual-Fan Cooler

The Inno3D GeForce GTX 1060 Twin X2 has a base clock 1.506 MHz and GPU Boost 3.0 allows the base clock to be increased automatically to 1.708 MHz. The memory is clocked at 4.000 MHz (8.000 MHz effective). The cooling of the graphics card is provided by the HerculeZ 2000 cooler design.

In order to keep temperatures under control, Inno3D's GTX 1060 utilises a custom cooler design going by the name of the HerculeZ 2000. This cooler utilises several heatpipes to transfer the heat produced by the GPU into an aluminium heatsink which is then exhausted using two large axial fans. The dual-slot cooling solution is a very quiet alternative to the reference design and offers the additional avantage of removable fan blades for ease of cleaning, and this holds true for the cooler cover of the HerculeZ 2000 as well.

Affordable VR Ready Graphics Card from NVIDIA: The GeForce GTX 1060

The 6 GB GDDR 5 VRAM of the GTX 1060 are connected to a 192 bit memory interface on the GPU, allowing a memory bandwidth of 192 GB/s. The GPU 106 chip comes with 1.280 shader units, known as CUDA Cores at NVIDIA.

The GTX 1060 series of graphics cards support DirectX 12 as well as current gaming technologies like NVIDIA Ansel, Gameworks, Warp, Stereo X, BR Audio, PhysX and SMP (Simultaneous Multi Projection). SMP 4.0 offers huge advantages for VR, curved displays and multi-display setups.

Thanks to SMP, Pascal now supports 16 simultaneous Viewports thus allowing fundamentally more realistic graphics on multiple monitors, curved displays, or in 3D applications. VR in particular benefits from the new technology as it supports the simultaneous rendering of two Viewports in a single pass. By using multiple Viewports the rendered image requires a smaller number of pixel calculations, massively increasing performance in VR applications.

The GeForce GTX 1060 works with a TDP of only 120 Watts, and a power supply capable of supplying at least 400 Watts is recommended. The GeForce GTX 1060 offers an HDMI 2.0b por, three DisplayPort 1.4 connectors and a Dual-Link DVI output. The HDMI port supports up to HDCP 2.2 and is capable of sending and receiving encrypted signals.

In order to exploit the full potential of the card in the long term, downloading and installing new drivers from NVIDIA or Inno3D at regular intervals is recommended.
